Become a member and participate in the shaping of the future of African Studies in Germany!

Any person, whose qualifications include scientific interest in Africa gained through research, teaching, and public service, may apply to join the VAD. The membership fee is €40 per year. Membership includes a subscription to the publication “Africa Spectrum”. Every member can take advantage of reductions in conference participation fees, and is of course eligible to vote during the VAD’s general assemblies.

University students of African Studies may also apply to join the VAD. Their membership fee is €17,50 per year. Please make use of the direct debiting service.
